After Jensen and Pridham’s first test of their loudspeaker invention resulted in ear-splitting feedback, they decided to see how far the sound of their loudspeaker would travel outdoors. With the horn on the roof of their Napa farmhouse facing the countryside, Pridham spoke into the microphone and Jensen ran. The wind started distorting Pridham’s voice at one mile.
