Siren #319: Baby Blue Eyes

Siren #319: Baby Blue Eyes

$600.00

Our Sawdust Sirens are old style acoustic amplifiers for your new phone's speaker. Simply put your phone in and have a listen.

This particular design of phonograph horn is sometimes called a Flower Horn, Morning Glory Horn, or Petalled Horn. It would have been used with an Edison cylinder phonograph or Columbia graphaphone with a support crane. Baby Blue Eyes is BIG and beautiful. This horn was painted light blue, white, and silver on the inside and black on the outside, at some point in its history. There are some scratches, dents, and paint deterioration that are appropriate for the age of the horn. It has 11 convex petals, a crane to support its weight, and stands approximately 33” tall with a 22.75” bell. This particular horn can swivel in the base. The base is made from a large piece of reclaimed oak and is finished with Betty’s Board Butter (beeswax & mineral oil). You may wish to re-oil your base occasionally.
